Hi! I am Hazel, an avid foodie and a compulsive baker. I am a software engineer by day and baker by night/weekends. My love for baking started when I was 7 and would keep pestering my mom to bake for me and teach me how to bake. I was obsessed about buying an oven and would try to convince my mother for years, she finally succumbed to it in my late teens. That day was perhaps the happiest day of my teenage life.
Words that resonate the most with me are from Julia Child's My Life in France - "To be a good cook you have to have a love of the good, a love of hard work and a love of creating. You never forget a beautiful thing you have made. Even after you eat it, it stays with you - always". This is exactly how I want anyone to feel, after they eat what I create and I want to feel the joy of being the reason behind it.
I always believe we have got only one life to live and you are not promised a tomorrow, so might as well make the most of it. During one of the many late night conversations with my best friend (and now my husband) we started mulling over this thought, and he asked me what would you do if you had only one life and a few days left in it ? That's how I came up with "One Life to Bake". Cheesy I know but that's me in a nutshell, Better Food is better mood right , who doesn't agree to that ?
“You can't just eat good food. You've got to talk about it too. And you've got to talk about it to somebody who understands that kind of food.” ―
This blog is a result of my passion for baking and sleepless nights of thinking about baking, so I record them here in order to share and learn more from the baking community. Thank you for stopping by and hopefully you will enjoy as well as try some of these recipes.
